Saxport was established in 1989 and was focused on the export of break-bulk shipments, primarily to the United States.
In 2006 the Company branded itself as Saxport International Logistics and expanded its service offering to provide clients with a comprehensive range of logistic management services.
In 2010 the company acquired its own warehousing and bonded cargo facilities in Johannesburg, established a national branch network and formally entered the project logistics market.
In 2014, Saxport acquired Tradestream Technology, a supply chain management software systems house, and rebranded to Tradestream.
In 2016 Tradestream disposed of the IT research and development part of its business to former directors.
